Destiny 2 Season 14 officially kicks off on Tuesday, May 11, and it runs until Tuesday, August 24, giving Bungie fans over three months to delve into the new content introduced with the Season of the Splicer. Season 14 will run through most of the Summer and it will celebrate the solstice with the Solstice of Heroes event. On November 26, 2019, just one week after Stadia’s release date, the player population of Destiny 2 was recorded as 19,400 for Google’s new platform. While this paled in comparison to the 494,000 players that logged into Destiny 2 on PC, the most popular platform for the title on that date, the figure suggested that at least some fans were interested in trying out a streaming version of Bungie’s highly-popular looter shooter....
On this note, it’s worth mentioning that Bungie’s Joe Blackburn and Justin Truman announced during an interview that The Witch Queen’s Hive Guardians will indeed be similar to Wyverns and Brigs. Tough enemies that are less troublesome than Champions, and Champions themselves, have been a nice addition to Destiny 2, as they make for a different sort of challenge. However, there are also iconic enemies, namely the Taken Phalanxes, in the game that became extremely annoying in some activities, especially those where players can be pushed off cliffs and into walls....
Historically, players had to visit Ada-1 in Destiny 2’s tower every day to see if her selection of four random mods introduced any new mods that players didn’t already have. This was a slow and tedious process since Destiny 2’s start, and many players found themselves frustrated with the amount of time and effort required to unlock the Armor mods they needed. This was especially problematic for new players, who often found themselves at a disadvantage compared to more experienced players who had already unlocked many of the best mods....
Emperor Calus’ backstory is explored in a new video from Destiny 2 YouTuber My Name is Byf, as the Leviathan raid left players with many question about who the raid boss really is. Taking lore from the raid and its weapons, Byf’s video explains that Calus was once in charge of the Cabal Empire and that he saw himself as its “father.” Calus even described himself as “the perfect loving god” to his subjects....
Bungie has yet to acknowledge the glitch, but it appears that problems arise because Destiny (the game) is not acknowledging barriers between different sections of the Crota’s End raid. Apparently, when teams move from one section to the next without dying, stats like swords held carry over. This becomes a problem because one of the key components of the Crota challenge is that no player can wield a sword twice....
The great thing about this update is that increasing the light level no longer requires players to participate in end-game content such as the King’s Fall raid, where the best gear was typically found. Players are now able to play Destiny however they wish and still see results – whether through the PvP modes of the Crucible, being a lone wolf in PvE areas, or the traditional end-game content. Regardless of preference, the end result sees players rewarded with better gear and weapons....
Beginning next week, Destiny will see the introduction of a new in-game currency called Silver, which will be spent at Tower vendor Tess Everis and can only be redeemed using real money. It’s a relatively small selection to start, but Tess will have 18 emotes available for purchase using Silver. According to Cowen & Company analyst Doug Creutz, Destiny’s addition of microtransactions could generate a huge upswing in the game’s revenue, as much as “hundreds of millions” per year....
In the last expansion, House of Wolves, Bungie took a step towards that by adding Trials of Osiris, an intense 3v3, one-life-to-live Elimination mode that challenged players to win nine games in a row. Players who went 9-0 (or Flawless) were granted access to an exclusive destination and Raid-tier weapon rewards. The playlist only showed up between Friday and Tuesday each week. Although Trials of Osiris has taken a break with the latest Destiny expansion, The Taken King, Bungie has added a few more PvP-centric events to the game, including a Weekly Crucible Playlist and Weekly Bounty quest chain (that when completed will award high-level – or what players call Nightfall – rewards)....

It seems players looking for some hands-on time with the re-imagining of the seminal 2005 classic could be in luck, as Destroy All Humans! is getting a demo over on GOG. The trial of the game will allegedly cover the first level of the original, which saw players land on Turnipseed Farm and terrorize its inhabitants. The level was actually recently the subject of a brief gameplay trailer, which debuted on THQ Nordic’s YouTube channel....
Unfortunately, for the time being, that roadmap isn’t available just yet. Players will have to trust the word of John McLaughlin, a developer at Sony XDev. According to McLaughlin, the development team for Destruction AllStars already has plans to deliver content for the multiplayer vehicular action game through 2021. They say that Destruction AllStars has “loads of cool stuff coming,” but also that the team plans to engage with players to ensure the content being delivered is what players want....

Now that Guardian Games has completed, Destiny 2 players can now see how the winning class, Titans, are immortalized, and we have to say it’s quite disappointing. Expectations were that the existing Guardian Games statues and “bank” would be replaced with something highlighting the winning class, but instead, all Titans got was a small statue to the side of Zavala. Guardian Games is an annual Destiny 2 tradition Bungie established last year. This event has replaced Revelry, and Crimson Days to a lesser extent, as the seasonal spring event. In Guardian Games, all members of Destiny’s three classes compete by collecting laurels and banking them at the podium. Over on the Destiny 2 subReddit, players have begun to discover that finishing Iron Banner matches now have a decent chance at dropping enhanced mods. This is a slight change from seasons past where players had a chance to earn them from turning in Iron Banner tokens and earning a package from Lord Saladin. While that method is still active, simply playing Iron Banner adds in another easy way to earn these powerful mods....
Unlike the Forsaken, Shadowkeep, and Beyond Light expansions that came alongside Destiny 2’s inclusion on Xbox Game Pass, The Witch Queen expansion can only be purchased separately for Game Pass subscribers. Of course, this doesn’t particularly impact the veterans of Destiny 2, who’ve likely already purchased the game on another platform and have been playing since 2017. Granted it makes sense: Destiny 2 has been on Xbox Game Pass for an entire year, giving new players the chance to experience Destiny 2 with a lower barrier of entry....
Vex Offensive was released on October 5th alongside the new Garden of Salvation raid (despite theories that the raid itself would kick the new mode into action), and after an introductory Shadowkeep quest, players could jump in right away to the new Vex-focused mode. Vex Offensive is a six-player matchmade arena-type activity that challenges players to take out populous waves of Vex and throws some interesting but simple mechanics in as well....
This is called a Flawless run, and it is not an easy achievement to unlock for all those players who are not masters of the Crucible. Because Destiny 2’s loot system for Trials incentivized Flawless runs so that players could get good weapons and gear, the community exploited a change made in Season of the Chosen. This consisted of players being able to freely switch between characters, and it was the main ingredient for what was later revealed as a convoluted system called The Hakke Casino....
Among them, Destiny 2 players can currently jump into the Legend version of the Cosmodrome PsiOp Battleground, which will rotate to the Moon version next week. While the Cosmodrome’s PsiOp Battleground doesn’t offer anything special over the others for players who have already finished the seasonal story, it’s where players can currently use a trick to get double rewards from the final chest. This mechanic is not too dissimilar from what happened in Season of Opulence’s Menagerie, and it’s very easy to pull off....
