In a video dedicated to analysis of the new weapon system, the YouTuber explains that the new system effectively gives players two primary weapons while limiting their fun to just the Power slot. Although there are very few new weapons introduced into Destiny 2, Guardians must now carry two variants on the primary weapon and make a choice between shotguns, sniper rifles, swords, rocket launchers, and fusion rifles, when it comes to filling their one remaining slot....

After being reported all over the Destiny 2 subreddit, Bungie acknowledges in a new Twitter post that the studio is currently investigating the issue. Since the launch of Destiny back in September 2014, gamers had been asking Bungie to expand upon the Sword of Crota mission included in the base game, and finally the developer agreed. Swords are now as much a part of Destiny’s core gameplay as guns, melee attacks, and supers. There has been turmoil behind the scenes at Bungie as well, with the Destiny developer caught up in a vicious legal battle against former in-house composer Marty O’Donnell. The dispute ended with O’Donnell entitled to $142,500, after allegations that Bungie had acted unlawfully when cancelling his contract. Now, the truth is out, with the lawsuit revealing that O’Donnell’s dismissal was the result of a long dispute between the composer and Activision’s marketing team, who wanted to score the Destiny trailers without O’Donnell’s involvement....

The Mountaintop Grenade Launcher Perks As revealed in this week’s Bungie update, The Mountaintop is a kinetic grenade launcher that can be deadly in the right hands. Bungie wanted to introduce The Mountaintop because it felt that there aren’t enough options for grenade launchers in the primary slot, outside of the Militia’s Birthright that drops from the Lake of Shadows Nightfall. A kinetic grenade launcher affords Crucible players more variety in their loadouts, and in the right hands The Mountaintop sounds quite deadly....

The Menagerie involves delving into previously unexplored levels of the Leviathan, unraveling more of Calus’ secrets. Within these “Lost Vaults” are a variety of challenges to overcome and as such, the Menagerie requires six players. Normal difficulty Menagerie will feature matchmaking, while Heroic difficulty needs a pre-made group of powerful Guardians. Matching the Menagerie’s challenges are its rewards, which include gear chosen and improved through the Chalice of Opulence. Players will assemble the Chalice at the start of the Season, using its power to progress week-to-week....

The new raid, which will be available to players who paid for Destiny 2’s Annual Pass, is called Crown of Sorrow. Outside of the name, nothing is known about where this raid might take place in Destiny 2, although the few shots shown in trailers have been set aboard the Leviathan. Another game-changing decision on Bungie’s part is to make artifact mods in Destiny 2 not limited to twelve anymore, which has been the case for the longest time. Players will still earn their first twelve artifact mods the same way as they do now, and instead of not being able to unlock any other, they will be able to do so at an increased experience gain rate, which will most likely scale up just like the artifact’s bonus Power Levels....

This entity seems to be an emissary of the Darkness looking to bring a second Collapse. With so many returning and new enemies, players hope for memorable foes that will impact the Destiny universe, worthy of Lightfall’s tagline - the beginning of the end....
