This week, Destiny 2’s Eververse Store added a new shader to its inventory called Jacarina that features a black and white color scheme. Considering how rare good black and white shaders are in Destiny 2, many players were excited to see Jacarina available for Bright Dust. However, they quickly found out that Jacarina was meme fodder more than anything else. The new Solstice event launched with a sort of “event pass” in the form of the Solstice Card, which is made of multiple challenges to complete in order to obtain one of the newly introduced event-exclusive currencies and thus get better items. Upon completing all challenges throughout the three-week period that Solstice will be active, Destiny 2 players will eventually be able to complete the Flamekeeper Seal and acquire the associated Triumph for the Reveler Seal, which will become fully available at the end of Guardian Games next year....

However, while the goal of cross-save is to unite players on any platform without any hiccups, Bungie has since clarified one important detail. Silver purchased on any platform will not carry over to another platform regardless of if cross-save is active or not. Players from all around the world will face the force of Cabals inside the Proving Grounds Nightfall. Judging from its Master variant, this cabal-driven strike will throw in all three elemental shields, alongside Overload and Unstoppable Champions. In addition, users will be rewarded with the double Destiny 2 Nightfall gear upon completion. One dedicated fan of both Destiny and Minecraft has recreated that section of the game inside Minecraft. In his Minecraft creation, players are able to select one of Destiny’s three classes—Hunter, Titan, or Warlock—each with their unique gear. The creator of the levels, who goes by infered5 on Reddit, uses some of the starting gear for each class on a player’s character: “Hunters get Tracker 1.0, Warlocks get Vector Oath, and Titans get Scoutmail....

Many Destiny streamers will carry followers through Trials of Osiris every week on stream, a common practice especially since Destiny’s content is running pretty dry at this point. But in a special carry over the weekend, Twitch streamer RealKraftyy helped a 7-year-old boy through Trials of Osiris and got him his first trip to the Lighthouse. With that reveal came details that a new version of the exotic called Iron Gjallarhorn would be a bonus to those who pre-order Rise of Iron. This left many Destiny fans with questions whether the new, updated version of Gjallarhorn would be placed behind a pre-order wall, only available to those who shelled out the cash early. But during their live stream reveal, Bungie cleared up the issue. All players who own the Rise of Iron expansion, no matter when they purchase it, will receive a quest that leads to the end reward of a Gjallarhorn rocket launcher....

Game Rant spoke to three members of what could be called Destiny’s original World First team—the players who were able to best the Vault of Glass before anyone else, back in 2014. That was back in the day when no one knew how raids in Destiny would work. And as they shared, after killing Atheon and sitting in the final room, they had to get personal confirmation over the phone from Bungie’s community manager, DeeJ, that Atheon was indeed the last boss and that they were the first to clear what was touted as Destiny’s toughest challenge....

Some would say no. Since a large portion of players secured the Sleeper Simulant a couple days ago, the weapon has received mixed reviews by members of the community, but a collection of videos online prove that the exotic heavy fusion rifle is quite powerful, especially against Destiny’s bosses. Numerous videos have been popping up on YouTube, showing the Sleeper Simulant making quick work of some of Destiny’s greatest villains....

PS4 owners will notice that a new toggle has been added to the Destiny 2 page that mentions an auto download on September 3rd. It could be an arbitrary date, but most figure this is when the game will be available for pre-load, at least on PS4. Pre-loading, for those that might not be familiar, downloads digital purchases to a console’s hard drive so they can be played the second the game launches and eliminates the bottleneck of everyone downloading a file at the same time....

Understandably, many fans aren’t happy about being locked out of content they previously had access to, and have been airing their grievances on social media. Bungie itself has yet to release a statement on the matter, so it remains to be seen if these fan complaints will result in any changes in the game, or if fans will just have to purchase the Curse of Osiris DLC if they want to play the Leviathan raid on Prestige difficulty again....

The Destiny 2 correlation was brought up on Reddit, where a user linked to one of the earlier cut-scenes in Halo 2. The cut-scene featured Cortana mentioning to everyone present that there was a “Whisper” coming from Io. For those who aren’t in the know, the latest mission to enter into Destiny 2 is called “The Whisper.” It’s a timed mission that takes place on Io, and its reward is Destiny 2’s equivalent of the infamous Black Spindle weapon that dominated for quite some time in the original Destiny....

It was a rare chance for the Destiny subreddit to let loose, much in the same way it did back when Xur sold Gjallarhorn on August 17, 2015. There were posts with players talking about deleting their characters, some simply begging for upvotes, and one really long post that was comprised only of people commenting, “Gjallarhorn.” For those that might not remember Gjallarhorn day, it was something. Only twice during the history of Destiny 1 did Xur sell Gjallarhorn....

Last week, Bungie detailed the changes coming to Destiny 2’s weapons, which will receive a few buffs when it comes to their archetypes. There will be more in-depth adjustments to some Exotics as well, with guns like Whisper of the Worm and Arbalest likely defining the new meta when the Anniversary Pack drops in December. However, today’s TWAB is all about abilities and Supers, and both of them are undergoing a major rebalancing that makes them very different from what players are accustomed to....

To do this they’ll need to gather ingredients, and then bake them in specific combinations to make each treat. While the baking itself is simple enough, finding the ingredients is anything but. For those that might not be familiar, the European Dead Zone is one of the new patrol areas for Destiny 2. It’s set on Earth and is close by the fallen Traveler shard seen in some of the promo images for the highly anticipated game. It’s also going to be players’ first opportunity to see how Bungie has changed its core gameplay loops to keep them in the action and consistently engaged....

Part of the problem is that Destiny 2 has faced significant technical issues, with the most prominent being server instability. The game’s servers frequently go down, causing players to be unable to access the game or to experience significant lag during gameplay. These server issues have been frustrating for many players, who have had to wait for the servers to be fixed before they can continue playing. It’s now five years post-launch and Bungie is still struggling with its technical back-end....
