Yesterday’s TWAB post shed some light on the changes made to Destiny 2’s Gambit with The Witch Queen and Season 16, which make the game mode more akin to Trials of Osiris after its recent rework. This entails a plethora of changes made to how Gambit works and what players can do while playing it, also addressing part of the feedback from the community about major issues with the game mode....
That’s according to news from Activision, with the publisher announcing that Destiny was the most watched console-only game on Twitch by minutes watched for the second year in a row. In addition, Activision says players of Destiny have collectively sunk 3 billion hours into the game since it launched in September 2014. Fans of Destiny and viewers of the game’s directory on Twitch prove to be a big force on the streaming platform....
Here is the conclusion to Destiny’s Books of Sorrow: The War Against the Vex Allowed into the Ascendant Realms by Crota, the Vex invade Oryx’s Throne World and the Hive’s netherrealm. The Vex, as machines who run simulations to find the best solution for every problem, are not able to figure out the Hive’s sword logic and so are not able to put up any fight. But then the Vex create a Vex Mind called “Quria, Blade Transform” who is able to deduce how the Hive’s world works....
The good news is that we now know what Bungie meant when they said “soon,” as an official launch date for Iron Banner 3.0 has been announced. Destiny players eager to test their mettle with level advantages enabled can do so starting on October 13th. With this being the first Iron Banner since the release of Destiny: The Taken King on September 15th, most would hope that the event will debut with some changes....
Product development director and executive producer at Nordic Games, Reinhard Pollice, confirmed as much to an inquiring fan on Twitter. According to Pollice, Nordic is considering a number of different options when it comes to reviving the Destroy All Humans! franchise, and the studio hopes to get started on one of these options “soon.” Ever since Nordic Games acquired much of THQ’s IP, the studio has released a number of remasters of old THQ games, perhaps as a way to test the waters for franchise revivals....
Although news has since been brief about the upcoming second entry, it seems one of the developers behind the upcoming Detective Pikachu sequel, Dave Gibson, is looking to make the title as accessible as possible to audiences. Posting on Twitter, the Creatures Inc’s lead UI / UX designer asked fans “what UI / UX mistakes drive you absolutely mad,” claiming that the team wants to ship “a top end experience” so fan feedback is “invaluable....
This is according to Legendary Entertainment producer Ali Mendes, who was asked by IGN about the possibility of Detective Pikachu kicking off a Pokemon cinematic universe. “We’re trying to get the first movie right, and then once we’ve done that, we’ll see where we go from there, but absolutely. There are a lot of opportunities,” she said. If rumors are to be believed, then plans for a Pokemon cinematic universe may already be in motion, with a potential set-up in Detective Pikachu....

Season of the Lost also brought a complete rework of the Trials of Osiris system, which was extremely successful and praised by Destiny 2 players, even those who normally wouldn’t really enjoy PVP. As for PVE, things got interesting with Bungie finally making Scorn Champions and immediately throwing them into the mix of the current Nightfall rotation to spice things up, starting with the iconic Hollowed Lair Nightfall in week 1....
Next week, Destiny 2 is hinting at a showdown against Lakshmi-2 and Quria as well. Guardians know that the Endless Night was never the Vex’s plan, but was instead caused by Quria’s infestation of the network. With the Vex Mind being a servant of Savathun, and last week’s lore page from the Hive God of trickery revealing that she is walking in human form in the Last City, it’s time to talk about Osiris....
Destiny 2 is a live service game at its core, with plenty of new content coming in the form of yearly releases and several Seasons every year, and The Witch Queen is no different, with Season of the Risen launching alongside the expansion. Season of the Lost was the closing Season of Year 4, and it lasted a total of six months, which is a lot by the standards of Destiny 2....
Considering that the Moon is supposed to be a “new” location for Destiny 2, many players wondered how it would compare to the version seen in Destiny 1. And thanks to a closer look during the Inside Xbox stream during Gamescom, players now can see the full Destiny 2: Shadowkeep moon map (thanks to some stitching from Reddit). Weapon and armor mods have always been a sore spot with the community in the first year of Destiny 2 and in an effort to make the system more compelling and interesting, Bungie has completely evolved the experience inside of Forsaken. Gone are the light level enhancing legendary and rare blue mods, replaced with a more dynamic set of mods that can be applied to weapons and gear for glimmer....
The Witch Queen expansion has been shown through trailers since August of last year, and today Bungie released another one that delves more into the horrors that lie in Savathun’s Throne World. The Throne World is where Savathun can recover if she is killed, and she has to die in there as well if she’s meant to die a final death. However, things can change a lot when the Light is involved, and Savathun might not need her Throne World in the same way as before....
However, for the very best Guardians among the scores that are invested in the game, there’s a different sort of competition at hand. For these select few men and women, it’s all about chasing the unknown, accomplishing things that no one outside of Bungie has managed in the game. This might mean being part of the first fireteam to successfully complete a new Raid. In the case of the newly released expansion The Taken King, it might simply be a case of finding a secret on the Dreadnaught that no one uncovered yet....
Besides this pre-order bonus fumble, the Rise of Iron launch has been somewhat rocky in other ways as well. For example, due to severe server overload, there were thousands of people that were unable to access the game at all when the new expansion released last Tuesday. Bungie has managed to get those issues ironed out since then, but still, anyone that took off work or school to play Rise of Iron on launch day couldn’t have been very happy....
Much like they did with the first batch of Destiny: The Taken King exotic reveals, Bungie will be taking to Instagram for the announcement. They’ve promised that at least two new exotic items will be added to the fray, along with some Year 1 weapons/armor. However, it’s important to note that the Year 1 exotics won’t simply see their base attack or defense rating increased; they will also apparently carry new perks....
Works Over Wi-Fi and Bluetooth The upcoming accessory is said to support both Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connections. Bluetooth will be predominantly used on the go. Conversely, Wi-Fi playback will be used at home, but your Roam will need to remain connected to your existing Sonos system through your local home connection. Two Roams can be paired to a stereo configuration in Wi-Fi mode. Sonos is thought to be formally unveiling the product on Tuesday, March 9....
The speculation turned out to be accurate as Sting not only made his AEW debut, but he was also confirmed to have inked a multi-year deal with Tony Khan’s promotion. Dave Meltzer revealed more details on Sting’s AEW signing in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter’s latest edition. It’s being reported that Tony Khan wants Sting to be a regular television character, something that WWE was not keen on doing during the veteran’s time in the company....
