One of the most fascinating parts of the film adaptation of the Detective Pikachu film is its art direction. Bringing Pokemon into the real world in a way that made sense should have been impossible, but it was done surprisingly well. Major credit is due the art team, including freelance concept artist RJ Palmer. In many ways, Palmer is the perfect choice for making realistic monsters out of cartoons, though a recent tweet from him shows this talent in reverse....

Detroit Mayor Mike Duggan told reporters that the number of Detroit residents that were hospitalized with the coronavirus doubled from two to three weeks ago, with 256 residents in the hospital on Tuesday. “It if doubles again in the next three weeks, we’re going to see the most serious problem we’ve had since the spring of 2020,” he said, adding that the infection spike was not a surprise because people are spending more time indoors due to colder weather....

There are different dates for each platform. Pre-loading will be coming first on Xbox One, promised to be available “early next week” while those on PlayStation 4 will get to download the game starting August 31. This is actually ahead of a September 3 pre-load date that was previously published on PlayStation Network. To be clear, pre-loading will download the game’s full content to a console, but the game will not be able to connect to the Destiny 2 servers until the official launch of the game....

For the casual playlist, the Valor ranking is just fine. It suits the nature of the playlist, awarding players with points towards their Valor rank based on a win, or even a loss, with a streak tied in for good measure. On the competitive side is where things are less suitable. The Glory ranking system is practically the same as the Valor system, except players lose Glory for losses and there is a loss streak in addition to the win streak....

As the name suggests, Season of the Haunted takes place on the Moon, but it also features a new patrol zone in the form of the Leviathan ship. The Leviathan had been absent for a long time from Destiny 2, and Calus is now returning to the scene with a new plan to gain more power – possibly, one that will allow him to become one of The Witness’ Disciples, much like Rhulk from the Vow of the Disciple Raid....

As such, The Game Awards 2021 was the perfect occasion for Bungie to share something new and exciting with fans. A new trailer aired during the event that hints at Destiny 2 bringing Mars back as a location, at least for the very first mission of The Witch Queen campaign. The trailer features a fight between Guardians and a Hive Knight using the powers of the Traveler’s Light, something Savathun has been working toward for a long time, even though players are still in the dark about the how....

Destiny 2 player and YouTube Content Creator, SneakyBeaver, has shown off their method of guaranteeing that the Exotic Engram stashed in the Postmaster is targeted to whatever Armor slot a Guardian wishes. The Exotic Engrams from solo Lost Sectors appear to be coded in a way that allows SneakyBeaver’s method to work. Even with the PC version now available, Bungie is foregoing a Destiny tradition as the Halloween themed Festival of the Lost isn’t making an appearance in Destiny 2 this year. Bungie has confirmed that the focus of season 1 has been on the launch of the game and reintegrating ritual events such as Iron Banner, rather than previous holiday events. The Dawning is currently planned as the first major seasonal event, kicking the holiday festivities off during the start of season 2....

It is a bit of a surprise that grenade launchers (or at least these specific weapons) are not getting their damage reduced considering that they are substantially more powerful than any other weapon class in the game, especially in PvE. Despite being tied to PvP activities, weapons like The Mountaintop and Swarm of the Raven have become staples for dealing out massive damage to bosses in the game. Before players decide to jump into the Rise of Iron raid, they will want to make sure that they are light level 370. Being a lower level will put players at a severe disadvantage, so taking the time to level up before trying to beat the Wrath of the Machine raid is important. It’s also best to gather a team of six players if possible. Once at the proper light level and properly equipped with some quality weapons, players are ready to start the Wrath of the Machine raid....

The delay comes as a result of Update 2.4.1 being pushed to the game that same day. Said update will raise the Light level to 400 and will provide players with more avenues to reach the pre-update 385 Light level cap and beyond. Update 2.4.1 will go live at the previously announced Heroic Mode start time, October 18th at 10 a.m. Pacific. The delay comes “to ensure that all World-First-hopeful Fireteams have time to download the update” so that there is an even playing field and start time for the race that always comes with the launch of a new raid....

Essentially, this new Oryx bug will teleport a Light Eater Ogre from their starting spawn position to the center of the map. At first the Ogre will be lumbering forward as normal, but then it will suddenly appear in the dead center of the Dreadnaught. And it doesn’t seem to be because of lag. In fact, Bungie has even acknowledged the Ogre teleporting bug saying: While Ogres teleporting is obviously a problem for the Oryx fight, it’s made worse by the fact that this week features the Oryx Challenge in King’s Fall....

Furthermore, the narrative for Destiny 2’s Season of the Splicer took players to a fight against Quria, the Dreaming Mind - a Vex Taken Mind who served Savathun and is responsible for the Dreaming City’s looped curse. With Quria’s demise and the epilogue of the Season of the Splicer addressing leaks and fan theories regarding Osiris possibly being Savathun herself, now is indeed the perfect time to revisit the city created by Mara Sov and terraformed by the Awoken....

The previous season of Destiny 2, Season of the Risen, kicked off alongside the most recent major expansion, The Witch Queen, and the battles with Savathun’s Hive guardians and Lucent Brood. Season of the Risen saw the Vanguard join forces with Cabal Empress Caiatl to halt the Lucent Brood’s push outside Savathun’s Throne World and continue to grow this burgeoning alliance between the Last City and the Cabal. It also saw Crow, the reborn Uldren Sov, continue struggling with the restored memories of his previous life as he tries to forge his own identity under the mentorship of Lord Saladin....

As previously stated, Bungie does weekly server maintenance to ensure that Destiny 2’s servers stay in the best condition possible, but that maintenance doesn’t take that long. In response to droves of questions about when the servers will reopen today, Bungie Help shared the info. Earlier this morning at roughly 11:00 AM ET, Bungie officially announced that it had addressed the problem involving Tower crashes during a period of network maintenance for Destiny 2 that did not require server downtime. As it so happens, the developer’s patch notes for Update 1.0.3.2 only list one aspect being fixed, but it should certainly delight the player base, as the patch has “Fixed an issue that was causing crashes while loading into the Tower....

As part of its Twitch panel on Destiny 2 Seasons, Bungie detailed some of the changes it plans to implement in Season 2. Specifically, the developer wants to let players buy Iron Banner gear with their Tokens, rather than have random drops from engrams. The studio also mentioned purchasing gear with Legendary Shards, but it was unclear how that might work. For the Token redemption, it sounds as though Destiny 2’s Iron Banner will look more like D1’s Iron Banner....

In the latest blog post, Bungie introduced a new kiosk being added near the vault inside of the Tower. Known as the Monument to Lost Lights Exotic Archive, Destiny 2 players will be able to interact with this stand to acquire numerous exotic gear, legendary pinnacle, and pursuit weapons that were tied to quests or missions that have since been vaulted. However, acquiring this gear will be a little more involved than simply walking up and unlocking them....
