The immediate pushback and uproar moved Bungie to quickly react who announced that it would disable the artifact power for Trials of Osiris and Iron Banner going forward. While the first weekend Today marks that particular day as Bungie just ended planned maintenance and released hotfix 2.8.0.1 for Destiny 2. While the major beats remain largely identical, Bungie has taken the opportunity provided by hindsight to tweak various encounters, especially with regard to the six-man gauntlet’s two boss fights. The Templar and its notorious Oracles, as well as big bad Atheon, have both been updated to make their respective showdowns with the Traveler’s champions require a greater degree of communication and teamwork, with just enough being different to keep the longest-serving Guardians on their toes....

The Destiny 2 Warmind prologue trailer shows how a new character, Ana Bray, will be leading guardians through a quest on Mars, and the teaser trailer also indicates that guardians will be facing Hive in Hellas Basin on Mars. The Mars map posted on the Destiny 2 Reddit page does not show many details about possible quests, but it does show the five main patrol areas, as well as the size of Mars, which seems to be similar to that of Titan, or possibly even a bit bigger than Titan in Destiny 2....

In addition to the new content, Bungie has also released a major quality of life update into the game. Update 2.0.5 brings a lot of highly requested features into the game including the ability to submit 25 Gunsmith Materials at a time, removing the hold time for Spider’s material exchange items, and making the newly renamed Masterwork Cores more available through bounties. For many though, this update introduces duplicate exotic item protection, helping to ensure that players will likely find new exotics over ones they’ve already received....

Should that be the case for most would-be Guardians out there, then they will likely fall head over heels for Redditor ShadowNight36’s LEGO build of Destiny’s Old Russia location known as The Divide. The set piece is quite detailed, as it includes Guardian figures, Fallen enemies, and even a Fallen Walker. As seen in the set of images from ShadowNight36 below, the Redditor gives other Destiny fans a closer look at the environments and models that took approximately a year to create in full....

For this week’s Trials of Osiris, the Motion Tracker has been disabled and players will no longer be able to revive their teammates. Destiny fans first heard the news of something different from Bungie’s PvP Lead, Derek Carroll: [HTML1] Especially on the map for this week, the close-quarters Moon map Cauldron, this should make for a mix of chaos and camping with more freedom to flank or surprise enemies around a corner....

YouTuber Esoterickk was recently crowned Bungie’s Movie of the Week in its weekly update thanks in large part to his Destiny raid efforts. Most figured that players would attempt to solo the Vault of Glass raid at the new light level, but none expected someone would do it so fast and complete the Templar Challenge at the same time. For those who have been keeping track, Vault of Glass’ Templar Challenge requires dealing damage to the boss while also blocking its teleport, a task that has proven difficult for full, 6-player fireteams....

However, Bungie did show off some of the armor that will be coming in Rise of Iron, specifically the Hunter armor earned from playing the Trials of Osiris. The developer tweeted out the below picture showing off the new gear. [HTML1] The new armor is cat-themed, keeping in line with the Egyptian theme of the Trials of Osiris gear. The helmet features narrow cat-like eyes, there is a cat shoulder pad on the gauntlets, and the cape is emblazoned with an outline of a feline and cat-like ears popping off the top of the hood....

But soon players will have a reason for Etheric Light again. In their Weekly Update, Bungie announced that a game update in December will give new utility to the dormant Etheric Light. They also mentioned that The Taken King’s new planetary material Wormspore will gain additional uses in the same update. Go back in time to May 2015, shortly after the launch of House of Wolves, and Destiny players were desperate for Etheric Light....

Keeping with the spirit of Destroy All Humans!, the reveal trailer for Reprobed served as the perfect showcase of what to expect from the game. While the series may seem like any other third-person action franchise with an alien-themed coat of paint, Destroy All Humans! has always been much more than that. The franchise has focused on satirical writing that pokes fun at, and often critiques, the culture of America and other countries in the 50s and 60s....

A recent entry to the vehicular combat genre, the game sees players smashing cars into each other. With Destruction Allstars launching as a PlayStation Plus free title, it has potential to reach a big audience. However, since release there have been some problems causing turbulence for players. Their pre-existing contract duration has been a topic of confusion for several reasons. It was initially reported in January 2019 that all four members of The Elite had signed five-year deals with the company. However, this was called into question with Cody’s departure in 2022. They were described as four-year deals during Being The Elite in October of that year. Fightful Select reports that Matt and Nick Jackson are discussing new deals with the company....

Destiny featured six voice actors that portrayed the Guardian, each representing a gender/race combo like an Exo male or Awoken female. Although the playable protagonist technically did have a voice, it featured sparingly and didn’t do much to convey the character of the Guardian. The game was well-received, but some of Destiny’s aspects were criticized, and the voice acting came under scrutiny. Peter Dinklage — the voice of Ghost — was even replaced by Nolan North after his performance was described as one-note and repetitive....

This sort of incident is especially frustrating for Destiny 2 players, as there have been similar bugs in the game that have gone unaddressed for long periods of time. Hunters that enjoy using their super block or simply like the look of this exotic are going to feel cheated until the armor is fixed. What makes the Warmind Cells system fun to use in Destiny 2 are the effects of shooting or picking them up. However, for Warmind Cells to spawn, players need to use Seventh Seraph or IKELOS guns and kill a certain amount of enemies. As long as players have at least one Warmind Cell mod slotted in their armor, Warmind Cells will spawn upon using said weapon types. Warmind Cells are also generated using certain combat style mods that don’t require the previously mentioned guns....

The two items leaked are the Hand Cannon and Fusion Rifle rewards expected to come from Shadowkeep’s Garden of Salvation raid. Details about both stem from photos shared on Reddit, though the photos are left unsourced. The Hand Cannon is a familiar 140 Rounds Per Minute staple named the Ancient Gospel. The Fusion Rifle is a Void weapon named the Zealot’s Reward. Both guns are known to be from Shadowkeep due to the expansion symbol in the upper left corner of each gun’s icon....

Specifically, the cyberpunk-themed Neomuna looks to be far more vertical than any of Destiny 2’s many previous locales. Whereas the Guardians would usually battle amidst ruins and rubble or, in some cases, untamed alien wilderness, the setting of Lightfall is a veritable metropolis at the height of its power, with immense skyscrapers and neon-laden concrete wherever one looks. The Guided Games Beta started today after Destiny 2 was down for hours of planned maintenance. However, developer Bungie has not thrown open the gates wide to allow anyone to test Guided Games. Only a select population of players have been given an invite to try Guided Games as a “Seeker” the term the game uses for a solo player looking to join a group. Players will know if they are included in the beta because a ticket for Guided Games will show up in their Postmaster....

Throughout the entirety of 2021, Bungie focused on rebalancing Destiny 2’s relatively new Stasis subclasses in both the open world PVE and the Crucible PVP modes. Some recent changes to how Stasis works resulted in one subclass turning into a boss-melting machine: Behemoth Titan. After a bit of sleuthing by Reddit users DorctorDoomDoom and echof0xtrot, new lore details on The Nine have come to light thanks in large part to the weapon lore excerpts on the Trials of the Nine-specific weapons. While Destiny 2 guns like A Sudden Death and Adjudicator provide new lore that confirms much of details on the Destiny 1 Grimoire Card for The Nine, much of the new facts come from the new Trials sniper rifle known as The Long Walk....
