One of the aspects of the soundscape of Destiny 2 that players will surely notice when they play the game is the music, which has always been a notable aspect of the game (and Bungie’s history with the Halo series) ever since Marty O’Donnell created the original soundtrack for vanilla Destiny. Since O’Donnell and Bungie parted ways, O’Donnell’s longtime partner Mike Salvatori - along with others like music director and composer, Skye Lewin - have taken the helm on the music for the franchise....
Masterwork weapons don’t automatically generate Orbs of Power on multikills anymore, so players have to rely on specific mods, which removes some power these weapons held prior to the change. As a result, Bungie is now more able to toy with additional perks for some weapons, and that’s being done with the debut of Origin Traits: perks that roll on weapons made by a specific foundry, or that come from a selection of activities....
Another change that may seem small in the grand scheme of things is that of Rare Engrams, with Bungie removing blue drops from the loot pool when players reach the soft Power Level cap - which is also very easy to achieve for experienced players through the Legendary campaign mode. One of Destiny 2’s most exploited features over the years since its introduction has been that of farming loot and experience while AFK in the Thrallway section of the Shattered Throne Dungeon, but that’s changing soon....
As is customary with each season, another addition to Destiny 2 with Season of the Splicer came in the form of the seasonal artifact, called “Paradrome Cube.” A new set of mods that players can pick and add to their armor pieces are here for players to spec into this season. Among these mods, there is one that has already become extremely popular thanks to just how powerful it is, and that is the new “Breach and Clear” mod....
Update 1.1.1.1 is set to bring a number of changes to Destiny 2. With this update, players who do not own Curse of Osiris will be allowed to participate in the Prestige Leviathan Raid once again, and will be able to earn the exotic shotgun Legend of Acrius, which is currently locked for players who have not purchased the DLC. This update will also introduce sweeping changes throughout Destiny 2 in an attempt to make the game more rewarding....
The teaser video was released on Destiny’s official Instagram account, and features Eris Morn making her way through a snowstorm on an icy tundra with the planet Jupiter in the background — leading many fans to guess she is on Europa, one of Jupiter’s moons. Having an actual video with a planned event to speculate on is a much meatier morsel for Destiny 2 players than other recent teasers like a strange audio file uploaded to Bungie’s Twitter....
Just this week, the final part of the Exodus quest line finally appeared in game, letting players not only re-experience locations that are about to be removed in November, but unlock the new exotic sidearm, Traveler’s Chosen. As it typically does for new exotics, Bungie also released a new trailer for the sidearm, piecing together story elements alongside gameplay of the weapon in action. Destiny 2 players have systematically dissected the trailer, analyzing every big of it for potential more clues ahead of the Beyond Light expansion....
The developers have talked about this concept of “unlocking” or “revealing” the fun before. Features like Guided Games will help solo players find groups, and the elimination of going to orbit in between missions should help keep players searching for that fun as well. But most of all, the developers want to make Destiny 2 more accessible to all players, from Destiny veterans to newcomers to the franchise. Bungie says that idea has pervaded the design of Destiny 2, which leads Smith in the video to talk about the new subclass layout....
Unfortunately, this change has also caused the planned Faction Rally for this coming week to be delayed in order for Bungie to reassess how best to handle access to seasonal content in Destiny 2. Before the planned update, seasonal events like Iron Banner and Faction Rallies would have kept non-expansion owns from being able to participate due to the newly added loot and ornaments players can obtain. Under the new policy, that restriction is removed so all players, regardless of which version of Destiny 2 is owned, can participate....

First, there are a couple of pre-requisites before you get started. You need to complete the main quest of The Taken King, and you also need to earn the right to Patrol the Dreadnaught by completing the mission ‘Dread Patrol’. Then, you’ll need to head to the Tower and speak to Eris to receive a quest entitled ‘A Broken Will’. The first step of the quest is to speak to Lord Shaxx in the Hall of Guardians, and the second is to farm 25 Hadium Flakes and 10 Motes of Light....
But while the DLC will introduce a wealth of new content into the game, the arrival of House of Wolves will throw one temporary kink into the works when it comes to currently available content. Bungie announced today on its forum that there will be no weekly, Nightfall, or daily activities available in the 8 hours between the weekly reset (2am PT Tuesday) and the official release of the new patch....
The information comes from Andrew Weldon, Senior Multiplayer Designer at Bungie. According to him, Destiny’s Combined Arms playlist now features “more total vehicles, stronger variation of the Interceptor [and] added a couple Heavy Pikes, damaged vehicles properly despawn…then some scoring tweaks for better game pacing and some other minor bug fixes.” During its Alpha, Beta, and at launch, Destiny heavily featured the Combined Arms playlist, which took place on large maps like Bastion and First Light....

Now, promising research from scientists at the University of Southern California has shown there might be an easier and more equitable way to find early signs of breast cancer—liquid biopsies. Dorraya El-Ashry, PhD, chief scientific officer at the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, told Verywell that the term “liquid biopsy” covers a large set of tests that look for abnormalities in the blood that could be signs of cancer. “It’s really just a blood draw that’s looking at any number of biomarkers,” said El-Ashry....
Gerry Thomas, 62, was jailed in 1991 for the assault and attempted murder of a woman in Detroit in 1987. According to lawyers at the Innocence Project, police had no physical evidence linking Thomas to the crime and his conviction was based solely on the victim identifying him as the culprit, two years after the attack took place. For those that may not have been following the news, there is an exploit with the Calus fight in the Leviathan Raid that removes all enemies from the Throne Room. While this does pose some challenges for ammo, it also makes the bulk of the encounter fairly easy. Players can send extra team members into the Shadow Realm to build a higher Force of Will buff, and the only real challenge is avoiding the few enemies that spawn there and killing the correct Psion in the Throne Room....
In a long Twitter thread, Blackburn discussed the Destiny PvP experience, explaining what the team has been working on lately and what’s planned for future. Blackburn touched on Destiny 2 Stasis balancing in PvP and tweaks the team has made to shake up the meta. As per the TWAB, Season 18’s legacy reprised Raid will launch on August 26 – a Friday. Although Destiny 2 is not new to Raids launching on Fridays, the community has been vocal over the years about Saturdays being the best bet for all Raid launches due to it being usually a day off for most workers and those who go to school, allowing everyone to participate in the launch experience....
