While speculation had been plentiful regarding where the Destiny 2 level cap would fall, it appears that Bungie has settled on Power Level 300 for its first apex. But unlike past releases of Destiny expansions, the sequel will put players at level 0, meaning the grind will be a little more intense than in past years. Getting to Power Level 300 will be significantly easier and more user friendly in Destiny 2, thanks to some improvements to the engram system in the game....

Vow of the Disciple is the newest raid for Destiny 2 players to run and came as part of the game’s latest expansion, The Witch Queen. The raid sees players venturing inside the broken Pyramid in Savathun’s Throne World to learn more about the mysterious Witness and what it has planned for the Sol System. Awaiting fireteams at the end of the raid is the titular disciple, Rhulk, who seeks to break free of Savathun’s imprisonment and make the Hive god pay for turning away from The Witness....

The Eyes of Tomorrow can only be acquired at the Taniks encounter of the Deep Stone Crypt Raid, making it a rare and elusive weapon for Guardians to acquire. Eyes of Tomorrow’s Exotic Perk named ‘Eyes on All’ allows the Rocker Launcher to fire a volley of rockets that all have tracking. The supporting Trait, Adaptive Ordnance, triggers when Guardians kill four or more combatants in a single volley and will increase the damage of the next volley....

However, while most Destiny 2 players expected that one of the best weapons in the game, the Recluse SMG, was sure to be the target of upcoming nerfs in Season 8, those nerfs don’t appear to be that substantial. While this sadly isn’t a new concept in the world of Destiny 2, with past iterations of Iron Banner also featuring exclusive shaders locked behind similar systems, this particular shader has gained a lot of praise from the community due to the unusual texture changes it creates on armor pieces. But with it only being available for such a short time, it has become the ultimate representation of FOMO in the game....

Most Destiny 2 fans should be plenty familiar with the Prometheus Lens given it has been featured in tons of Curse of Osiris promotional materials. It’s the trace rifle that is basically a solar version of the Coldheart. But while Coldheart is a respectable exotic energy weapon, the Prometheus Lens is a monster, especially in PvP. The weapon is capable of making quick work of any enemy, reducing them to ashes in a matter of seconds....

This is something that multiple lore books in the game have been talking about over time, and it’s also something the returning Exo Stranger, Elsie Bray, warned the Guardians about in the Beyond Light expansion. Elsie Bray is from that timeline, and she tells tales of how Eris Morn was corrupted by the Darkness and became the Witch Queen herself, or how she had to kill her own sister, Ana, after she betrayed the Light and those who believed in it....

Crow has been a successful character who, ever since Bungie featured him in Season of the Hunt, become a fan favorite because of his traits and the fact that he redeemed Uldren. Uldren getting a second chance at life through the Traveler’s Light and his Ghost, Glint, is not the only way he could have been redeemed, and that is clear reading into the lines Mara says in Season of the Lost....

Up until now, Bungie has kept quiet on the name for Season 7. When the Annual Pass was first revealed, it was simply referred to as “Season of the [Blank].” The Season of the Shadow will feature the Penumbra content drop, the third and final bit of DLC included with the Destiny 2: Forsaken Annual Pass. The definition of a penumbra being the shadow cast by an astral body, for example during an eclipse....

While Bungie had previously detailed those three pinnacle weapons in text form, today the Destiny 2 developer gave fans a live look at each in action. And while some may not have been sold on the strength or the viability of these new weapons, seeing them in video is pretty convincing. Up first is Loaded Question, a fusion rifle that will be available as the Strike pinnacle weapon for Season 5....

The Cuirass of the Falling Star has already displayed its power by easily clearing a lost sector in a matter of seconds, and even one-phasing a raid boss. Guardians have continued finding ways to further increase the maximum damage output of the Cuirass of the Falling Star by stacking various buffs and debuffs in Destiny 2: Beyond Light. Another major focus of this update was to improve weapons. Most weapon archetypes received some sort of adjustment and even improving the Time-To-Kill ratio almost across the board. The biggest beneficiary of these changes were precision hand cannons and adaptive pulse rifles. The exotic pulse rifle Vigilance Wing received a significant boost, now featuring a quick .83 second optimal time to kill, which is down from its previous mark of 1....

The latest Destiny 2 press release included a bunch of information pertaining to the Witch Queen DLC, as that was its main focus. However, it also featured a section on the upcoming world-first raid race, which is set to kick off on the 5th of March, where it plainly mentioned the title of the raid itself. After Destiny received the December Update on Tuesday, players noticed that a new Missing Exotic Blueprint showed up under the Year 2 Primary Exotic section of the Exotic Weapon kiosk in the Tower. It shows up as soon as a player purchases the Year Two version of MIDA Multi-Tool from the kiosk. So with all of those impressive statistics and awards adorned on Bungie’s mantelpiece, it should come as little surprise that Destiny’s players have invested a massive amount of time into the game too. In Activision’s latest investor call, the game’s publisher revealed that Destiny players have logged more than 2 billion hours in the game. With the game having about 20 million players across PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One, that amounts to around 100 hours per player....

Destiny fans and influencers across the globe were also given a special surprise this week as mysterious packages were received by many holding a Cayde-6 pre-order figure as well as an official invite to the main livestream event. While no details were provided, some clues may have been hidden in the package including an invitation sealed by a blackened Ghost and a card with a message welcoming the individual to a world without light....

Voters decide in tomorrow’s primary whether Michigan’s newly drawn 13th Congressional District sends State Representative Shri Thanedar, who is spending at least $5 million of his own money on the campaign, or one of eight Black candidates to Washington D.C. come January. The district is safely blue, so whoever wins the Democratic primary is virtually assured of election in November. But where the Detroit-centered seat once was dominated by Black voters, the new configuration makes Black Democrats a scant plurality of the electorate in the newly configured area....

While speaking to Giant Bomb, Destiny 2 director Luke Smith mentions that the new raid will have a different death penalty than in Destiny 1. He didn’t say what exactly that penalty would be, but he suggests that the days of no revives are gone, potentially for both Heroic and Normal difficulty.
