But Bungie says that a new hot fix, which has already been pushed to Destiny should relieve these issues. If all goes well, both Trials of Osiris and Iron Banner should make a quick return.

The original issues that plagued the game included a bug that could prevent matchmaking into an activity and weapons inflicting too little damage (as little as 1 point), or players taking too much damage from opponents in PvP. Clearly these issues presented a serious roadblock to PvP activities that are considered endgame, which dole out gear of the highest Light level.

Bungie explained that the issue appears to have come from a new feature added in Update 2.3.0, specifically the ability to hover over each activity node in the Director and view which friends were currently in each activity. The bug was especially problematic for those with a large roster of active friends in Destiny.

To fix the issue, the Players in Activity feature will now cap at displaying a maximum of ten friends. Bungie says if that was in fact the issue and no other issues crop up after this patch, Trials of Osiris will make a return tomorrow:

That also extends to the return of Iron Banner. Originally planned to start this past Tuesday, if the hot fix takes care of the bugs, June will still get an Iron Banner starting next Tuesday at 10 a.m. Pacific.

Hot Fix 2.3.0 also patches a few other minor bugs:

An issue causing players experiencing a spike in Honeydew and Panther errors when attempting to play Strike and Raid activities on Monday June 20th, 2016. Passage Coins not dropping when completing Daily Crucible Activities. Character data failing to load within activities

Bungie has not given any other details about Destiny’s fall expansion, Rise of Iron, since E3 but promises that more will be shared during “appropriately explosive moments throughout the summer.”

Destiny: Rise of Iron will launch September 20 on Xbox One and PS4.
