As reported previously, when Rise of Iron is released, it will only be coming to current generation consoles—the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. As a result of the separate track older consoles will be put on, the deadline to complete Moments of Triumph on PS3 and Xbox 360 has been moved up to August 16, 2016.

Bungie tweeted the news from their support account, Bungie Help. The message was sent to specifically let players know that day will be their last chance to get the rewards and the code for a special t-shirt that can be purchased online once the Moments of Triumph have been completed:

The deadline to complete the Moments of Triumph on current gen consoles remains the same—the day Rise of Iron launches, September 20, 2016. The shorter time frame for those on Legacy Consoles, as Bungie calls them, is due to the fact that the transition between old and current gen will occur on August 16.

That is the date that Bungie will split the profiles of players, creating two separate progression paths. Whereas currently, if a player has Destiny on PS3 and PS4, everything earned on one console will show up on the other.

But starting in August, not only will that progression become isolated to each generation, but PS3 and Xbox 360 players will also stop getting live events, Trials of Osiris, Iron Banner, the Eververse Trading Company microtransaction system, and more.

The split is due to the continued expansion and growth of Destiny. Bungie says 90% of the Destiny player base is already on PS4 and Xbox One. In many ways, the old generation consoles have been holding back the game as a whole. It has made increasing Vault space a difficult issue to implement and certain emotes from Eververse have been excluded from the Legacy Consoles due to memory restrictions.

So the Moments of Triumph deadline moving up is another casualty of Destiny’s upcoming split between the console generations. However, according to Bungie, it will make Destiny a better game for everyone as it moves into the future.
