That’s according to news from Activision, with the publisher announcing that Destiny was the most watched console-only game on Twitch by minutes watched for the second year in a row. In addition, Activision says players of Destiny have collectively sunk 3 billion hours into the game since it launched in September 2014.

Fans of Destiny and viewers of the game’s directory on Twitch prove to be a big force on the streaming platform. Not only do these new statistics show it, but events like last year’s week-long charity stream hosted by multiple Destiny streamers pulled in $500,000 worth of donations for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

With such an audience behind the franchise so far, if Bungie and Activision can play their cards right, it’s likely that the game’s sequel, coming out September 8, could continue to stay relevant in the Twitch directory. As shown in the game’s first gameplay reveal, Destiny 2 appears to build on the core of the Destiny experience fans are used to, while also adding more—that includes a more competitive 4v4 PvP setup, new subclasses, four unexplored world zones, and likely more that Bungie has yet to unveil.

The first taste of Destiny 2’s forecasted success on Twitch could come when the Beta launches this summer. The game may never live in the overall top spot of Twitch, usually consistently held by League of Legends and Hearthstone, but the Destiny franchise looks to have the potential to stay up there if it can keep its momentum.

Destiny 2 will launch on PS4 and Xbox One on September 8, 2017, with a PC version coming at a later unannounced date.
