At around 1 minute 29 seconds in a new Q&A video with Destiny 2: Forsaken co-directors Steve Cotton and Scott Taylor, a question was posed whether or not Bungie was looking into adding new timed events and exclusive rewards similar to Faction Rallies and Iron Banner. Steve Cotton jumped in and without providing many details, confirmed that Bungie is going to be adding more in the future.

Interestingly enough, Cotton’s answer appeared to be linked directly to the annual pass that was announced a couple of months ago along with Forsaken. While confirming new events were coming, Cotton ended his answer by saying that the studio isn’t talking about all of the details with the annual pass right now. What isn’t clear is if new events are only coming to those who have purchased the annual pass or if Bungie plans on adding new events for those with and without the pass.

The annual pass caused a lot of confusion from the community when it was revealed for the first time during the Forsaken livestream. For the studio, the annual pass serves as an evolution of the expansion pass by offering not just three content packs in the next year but adds more loot, activities and raid lairs. Naturally, player’s alarms went off at this announcement over the fact that it appears new content is gated off behind a paywall. Bungie has assured fans that the premium content won’t be like the bigger Warmind and Osiris expansions, though without all of the details, players will have to wait and see what Bungie actually has planned post-Forsaken.

Destiny 2: Forsaken releases on September 4, 2018 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
