Next time the full curse comes around on October 30th, Bungie promises that the spawn rate for the Ascendant Primeval will be better. In fact, the developer says that Destiny 2 players will be just as likely the see the Ascendant Primeval as any other Gambit boss.

No doubt this change is sure to please those players who were frustrated by the low spawn rate of the Ascendant Primeval. Sure, there is something to be said for having a rare spawn rate, but an argument could be made that it was a little too low. Now, it shouldn’t be very hard to start the Malfeasance exotic quest.

For those that might not have been following closely, when Destiny 2’s Dreaming City hit maximum Curse the Ascendant Primeval started appearing in Gambit. It was a rare boss to see but defeating it rewarded a quest item called Seething Heart. With it, players could work towards acquiring Malfeasance, an exotic hand cannon that favors Gambit. It’s also important to note that Bungie plans to buff the hand cannon with the October 30th update.

While the Ascendant Primeval’s spawn rate has been increased, Bungie has also changed some of its reward drop rates as well. Once the update goes live on October 30th, the ship and sparrow will not be guaranteed drops from subsequent Ascendant Primeval kills. These items will still drop after players have acquired the Seething Heart but they will be random rewards.

For those players chasing the Dredgen title in Destiny 2, this means that the grind has become a little less straightforward. Players will now need to hope that those two items drop instead of knowing that they will.

Overall, this seems to be a change that Bungie needed to make in order to please its fan base. It’s one that will have its critics but there was no shortage of complaints on the forums and subreddit to suggest that Bungie needed to do something.

Destiny 2: Forsaken is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
