With that reveal also came the announcement that the Rasputin focused expansion 2 content would not be arriving until Spring 2018, which surprised a number of people considering that Bungie has previously stated it plans to release content on a faster cadence than the first game. With a DLC cycle that looks relatively the same as Destiny 1, it’s clear that Bungie has other plans to fill the gaps between releases, most likely through its seasons of content feature the studio revealed a couple weeks ago.
In the meantime, the weekly reset has returned to the world of Destiny 2, giving players a fresh set of milestones to conquer over the next seven days. Here’s the full set of information regarding all of the new milestones, tasks, and events for the week of October 31, 2017.
Weekly Nightfall Strike
This week in the Nightfall, players are heading back into the lair of Braccus Zahn in The Arms Dealer strike. Strangely enough, this strike was also the Nightfall last week, so this could be a case that it’ll be updated later today or perhaps this was just the luck of the draw considering the limited number of strikes the game can pick from. At the very least, the modifiers have changed from what they were last week.
While primarily a Cabal-centric strike, players will also have to contend with the Fallen at times during this mission as well. The first few sections of this strike essentially put players in the middle of a battleground between these two factions, with some high powered enemies like a Colossus and a Seige Tank also joining the fight at times as well. During these initial sections, Guardians will need to drop charges at specific drop points on the ship, while fighting off waves of enemies like the aggressive war beasts.
Before long, Braccus Zahn will make his appearance, prompting players top chase the speedy Cabal through the ship until reaching the final room of the Strike. In this wide open space, players will not only have to contend with Zahn’s automated turrets but waves of Cabal flood the room as well. Players should make a point to keep Zahn’s shields down as much as possible as the fight is much easier to get through when he’s unable to soak massive amounts of damage. Use the structure of the room to recover when needed and before long, the Cabal will fall.
The modifiers and challenges this week are:
Prism: Attacks that matched the focused element deal increased damage while non-matching attacks deal less. This modifier does not affect kinetic weapons or incoming damage but the focused element rotates periodically. Timewarp: Killing Time: Kill enemies to increase the timer up to a certain amount.
The player challenges for this week are:
Speed of Dark requires the fireteam to finish the Nightfall with at least 5 minutes remaining on the clock. To earn Unbroken, the fireteam needs to complete the Nightfall with fewer than three deaths. Trash the Thresher requires players to shoot down a Thresher while fighting Bracus Zahn.
Flashpoint Location and Treasure Maps
Following the established pattern, the Flashpoint for this week is back on Earth in the European Dead Zone. The weekly milestone can be completed by simply participating in multiple public events on the featured world. Keep in mind that triggering Heroic events will help get the job done much faster, so players are encouraged to enable these events as often as they can. Once the milestone is complete, head back to Cayde-6 to earn a luminous planetary engram filled with powerful gear.
Before embarking on this milestone however, players will want to first go talk to Cayde-6 to grab his five weekly treasure maps. Cayde’s Stashes offer players new loot to find each week, with a chance at scoring an exotic engram and other unique rewards as well. Like most other chests on a certain world, players need to keep the chest lockout timer in mind, which essentially removes the ability to earn a reward for players that open too many chests consecutively. In between opening chests, players should perform a different activity to reset the timer, such as a public event or other mission.
Here are the five general stash locations this week on the EDZ:
The first treasure can be found just after The Gulch area in the EDZ. So Fast Travel to that point and run through the zone heading to The Sludge. After passing the street signs beyond the broken highway, look up on a ridge to the right where a steel structure sits. Jump up here and follow the ledge to the first chest. The second stash is waiting for players in the passageway linking The Sludge to The Outskirts. Unfortunately, there is no easy fast travel solution, but for players that start at Trostland, head down into The Outskirts, go past the courtyard area and up the road near the housing complex to find the glowing chest clearly visible off the main path in some broken trees. Consult the map for best results. Treasure number three sit between Trostland and Maevic Square. So load into Trostland, run past the church, and through the path to Maevic Square. Run through the first set of doors but before leaving the house, the treasure can be found on the second floor of the next room. South of The Outskirts is chest number four, so either load into Trostland or the Winding Cove to begin the search. Continue heading south along the bridge and under the tunnel. The chest can be found on a truck leaning over the edge of the road right as players exit the tunnel. Finally, players can find the last of Cayde’s stashes for this week in The Dark Forest. Load into The Sludge and take the first right where players go to activate the second and third character subclasses. Follow the path and Cayde’s treasure can be seen glowing off to the left of the main path. Can’t miss it.
Leviathan Raid Encounter Order
As it is each and every reset, the Leviathan Raid encounter order has once again changed. The long-term goal of this policy helps keep the mode fresh for players continually going in, but it also helps newer players get used to the Raid and gives them an opportunity to play each part even if struggling.
Keep in mind that the Raid Challenge mode also launches later today around 1pm EST/10AM PST. According to sources, the Challenge Mode focuses on the Royal Baths area of the Raid.
This week, the order is as follows:
Pleasure Gardens/War Beasts Gauntlet Baths (Pools) Emperor Calus
Lord Shaxx Crucible Milestone
As it is each week, Call to Arms is the Crucible milestone, granting players a Luminous Crucible Engram for participating in Crucible matches. Simply playing a match from either the Quickplay or Competitive playlists will fill a percentage of the quest, so playing about 4-5 matches should finish this off.
Call to Arms - Win glory by participating in Crucible matches.
And that’s all for this week, Guardians. Enjoy!
Destiny 2 is available now for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
