As seen below in Destiny 2’s launch trailer for Warmind, the journey of the game’s Guardians continues with the addition of a brand new story that features Ana Bray, a legendary Hunter who is searching for a connection to her past on the polar ice caps of Mars. Golden Age warsats start slamming into and thawing the ice, which reveals the core of the Warmind Rasputin and an ancient Hive army attempting to destroy it. In this latest expansion, players will assist Ana in uncovering her past and defeating the Hive’s huge worm-god in the process.

In addition to the all-new story, the launch of Destiny 2’s Warmind will also see the start of the science fiction shooter’s Season 3, which is set to include significant updates to Exotics, the introduction of a new feature to Eververse called Prismatic Matrix, a PS4 exclusive Strike, and more. Additionally, there will also be new themed weapons, armor, and gear to earn, such as the Huckleberry SMG, the Polaris Lance scout rifle, and the new exotic sword, Worldline Zero.

While the Warmind DLC launch trailer definitely shows promise for the add-on, it’s safe to say that many Destiny 2 fans are going to remain cautiously optimistic regarding the quality of its content, as many remain unimpressed by the offerings found within Curse of Osiris. Speaking of the first expansion, though, there is a fine bit of news in that Guardians are not required to own CoO in order to play Warmind. With this being the case, perhaps it can be seen a good sign of things to come in terms of Bungie listening to its fan base and delivering the goods.

Destiny 2’s Warmind DLC is set to launch on May 8, 2018 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
