The video shows off Guardians trekking into the Tangled Shore to hunt down the Barons. The mission serves as an introduction to some of the big bads of the Forsaken campaign. The main bad that players will be dealing with in this mission is The Fanatic, who is second only to Uldren himself.

The Mechanist and The Hangman also make an appearance in the mission, giving players a small taste of what to expect when they face off against these Barons during the campaign. The Mechanist, as the name implies, is a specialist in machines and heavy weaponry. She serves directly under The Fanatic. The Hangman is the resident sadist, who causes large fiery explosions with flaming censer.

Players also got to see some gameplay from the new Warlock Stormcaller subclass tree: Attunement of Control. Attunement of Control is one of the nine new subclass trees coming alongside Forsaken. This subclass tree allows Warlocks to unleash an enormous laser beam of Arc energy at enemies, similar to Overwatch’s Moira. Players can turn the super off early to save some super energy.

While some of the dialogue was a bit hard to hear, it definitely seemed like the players were still coming to terms with Cayde’s death. So far in Destiny 2, Ghost acted as the player’s voice and often made witty jokes. But Nolan North’s performance here certainly shows that the Hunter Vanguard’s death in the campaign’s first mission has hit home with everyone who knew him.

Destiny 2: Forsaken launches September 4 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
