However, the Exorcism mission, in which Guardians are tasked with assisting and defending Queen Mara Sov while she performs the ritual to sever the connection between Savathun and her Worm, launched just today - a week before The Witch Queen. The timing was weird enough, considering that the Season went on for six months, but the issue is that a few Destiny 2 players won’t be able to experience it with such a short span of time between its release and the expansion’s launch.

And yet, the main issue seems to be that the Exorcism mission is currently bugged, instead, and many of those who play through its entirety are actually not getting quest advancement from it. The bug seems to be caused by players running ahead into the mission through means like the Eager Edge perk, skipping important bits of dialogue or in-game events as a result. Another problem is likely tied to some players skipping the final cutscene of the Exorcism mission, which skips it for the entire team even if every other Guardian watches it on their screen.
This results in most players having a short glimpse of the in-game room where the cutscene takes place after it ends, and then are taken back to Orbit with no progression on their associated quest. This means that even replaying the mission doesn’t guarantee that Destiny 2 fans will get to advance the steps of their quest, and the only workaround seems to be taking it very slowly and not skipping the cutscene.
Another possible bug is that the audio log for the Exorcism mission is currently unavailable in the HELM, preventing players from completing the associated Triumph. On a brighter note, today Bungie released a new trailer that teases Destiny 2’s new Raid coming with The Witch Queen on March 5, less than two weeks after the expansion’s release, and it should be something to look forward to.
Destiny 2 is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
